Good Afternoon,
I've been on a writing/blogging sabbatical for a few weeks while getting ready for vacation then going on vacation. My wife and I were able to take our two oldest kids and our moms to Disney World and to be honest, I'm falling more and more in love with this place that is summarized in one word, "MAGICAL."
There are so many themes and insight to retrieve from this place but today, I'll begin with a quote by Mr. Walt Disney himself: ""If anybody gets highbrow around the studio, out he goes." Proverbs 11:2 lays an even firmer foundation with, "Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom."
As I walked the streets of the various parks, I saw within the eyes of every Disney World employee a desire to help and serve. There were no Big "I's" and little "U's." As my feet landed back in reality here in Kansas City, I couldn't help but wander how much more impact you and I could have with our families, community, co-workers if humility was more our aim. I have seen more people hurt by others in recent months simply due to the fact one chose the low road of pride versus the high road of humility.
Determining within yourself that you are no better than anybody else is a tough path to live on but at the end of the day you will find yourself making a direct difference in this world on in to the world to come. One man has helped change a world with a mouse, you can help change the world with a carpenter but it will take humility, turning the other cheek, and down right love from heaven to do it. Are you up for it?
Let's Pray Together: Dear Heavenly Father, there is still so much for me to learn but I thank You for Your patience and teaching that is helping me to daily become more like You. I surrender to you the hurts from the past and even the pain of today and thank You for doing an irreversible work deep within me. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen...
Remember: Your hurt exchanged for His hope equals happiness.
Have a great evening,
Matt
